Anthony and Diane are joined by techno-nerd Shane Birley to talk about what's wrong with Canadian television -- that is, about the CRTC's Let's Talk TV campaign. We sort-of answer two of their three questions and ignore the stupid one:
  • What do you think about what’s on television?
  • What do you think about how you receive television programming
But first we discuss the news in Canadian television, including Saving Hope's renewal, The Amazing Race Canada and The Bachelor Canada casting, Working the Engels guest stars, and the Canadian International Television Festival.

Never Ever Do This At Home premieres May 6, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is in production, Vikings and Match Game were picked up for a second season, Storage Wars Canada is coming to OLN, Jonathan Torrens celebrates 25 years in Canadian TV, and the way we're watching TV is changing thanks to HBO and Aereo. TV, eh? podcast episode 129 - "Wonktacular"

Special guest Kelly Lynne Ashton - wonk extraordinaire - joins us for this special episode of the TV, eh? podcast. Special because we pick her brain on all things CanCon related and get answers to our burning questions on what exactly makes a show Canadian - The Borgias anyone? - how many teeth the CRTC has and many other things that raise Diane and Anthony's collective blood pressure.

Also special because after that interview the rest of the podcast didn't record, so we (mostly Anthony) power through the news of the week. Again. News such as Orphan Black's ratings, The Borgias' return, Motive's web series, Sanctuary's syndication, Cracked's sales, and Syfy's Continuum season 2 pickup. Also Diane made a passionate rant about something that is lost to the technical gremlins but we promise to try again next week.
